Kimberly Marnell Biography
Kimberly Marnell is a fine artist who focuses on multimedia installation. A native of Syracuse, New York, her paintings pays homage to her lifelong experiences as a student, teacher, and a love for the beauties of her life! Her distinctive personal style emanates joy and spirituality and expresses the vibrant energy and atmosphere of her many experiences. She has traveled and lived in various locations in North America including Syracuse, New York; Dallas, Texas; Scottsdale, Arizona, and currently resides in Irvine, California. She was born on August 22, 1977, in Syracuse.
Marnell went to public schools in Fountain Hills, Arizona, and Baldwinsville, New York. She regularly won art contests and received modest rewards. At age ten, she bested five other schools in a competition for the best-painted windows. Moving to Fountain Hills, Arizona in her mid-teens, where she kept up her love of art and creation and started experimenting with various mediums and subjects. In both 1994 and 1995, she received the National Art Honor Society Award.
Marnell graduated with honors and was also a member of Phi Theta Cappa at Scottsdale Community and Rio Salado Community College and a completed Associate Degree in Arts and Fine Arts.
Marnell carried on with her studies in 2016 at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she is pursuing a BA in Architecture. While attending school she began instructing painting classes that had between fifty and sixty students per class on a stage the same year.
In April 2020 Marnell took first place in the Dallas Art Battle Live Painting Competition as a result of her speaking experience in front of large crowds.
In March 2020, the COVID pandemic struck, eradicating all social interactions. Events with a large attendance were forbidden. She was unable to continue competing or teaching, so she wished to continue teaching art. Sheshe continued teaching art on Tiktok, Instagram, and Pinterest and posted videos about art and education gaining 56,900 followers across the platforms.
In May 2020, she moved to Irvine, California where Marnell began giving online instruction.
In 2022 she taught in-person fine arts in a variety of media, including charcoal, chalk pastels, oil pastels, acrylic paint, watercolor, and gouache. She never lost her passion for art or creation. She continued to conduct live and online painting classes.
